While in any season of life there are some simple things to add beauty to your home. Even in difficult financial seasons, I’ve tried to find ways to squeeze these two simple things into our budget. Are you ready for it?
Fresh flowers & candles. Its not really fancy or complicated, but the beauty it can bring into your home is truly amazing and even peaceful. I have a few favorites as far as flowers are concerned and yours are likely different from mine. Its good to find your favorites and how they add a simple touch of beauty to your every day life. My go-to’s are blue or white hydrangeas, tulips, or sunflowers. Occasionally, I’ll add peonies, but their season is very limited. As soon as I see these in-store I snatched a bouquet before the season is gone.
I typically head to my local grocery store for fresh-cut flowers. There are two ways to help your flowers to stay fresh longer (apart from making sure they have water). Once you are home with your flowers, cut the stems at a diagonal, at the right length for your vase. Then make sure to place them in very cold water, along with the plant food mix packet. I’ve found that these two things go a long way to helping my flowers to last as long as possible.
My go-to flower vases are large mason jars. I’ve recently found these hexagon large mason jars over at Walmart that I’m just absolutely loving.
Creating a home with beauty is of high priority in my home. I know it may sound silly to some, but after a long-hard day (or really any day) there’s something relaxing about beautiful flowers & a lit candle. What are some simple ways that you add beauty to your home on a regular basis?
